As I Glide

Sketch For Survival Invitational 2021

I glide where there once were trees, I glide in your memory, We sit back, is that to be our destiny, I glide in your memory, Until we too become our own enemy, Extinguished to become history.

The Greater Glider, an incredibly cute cartoon like nocturnal marsupial with huge eyes and big fluffy ears recently discovered and vulnerable. Gliders live silently clinging quietly to life high up in the Eucalypts.

Sketch for Survival an International art competition used to raise awareness about a range of important global conservation topics as well as raise funds for nominated projects.

In 2021 Alix was part of a prestigious Invitational Collection being displayed at gallery@oxo on London’s South Bank. All paintings donated are sold via an online auction, with all proceeds going to a Project Fund.

Many Australian Animals are already extinct, Dingo’s clings on to being listed as native fauna. Threaten with extinction they continue to be hunted.

The predominant red of this painting indicates the harshness of the desert & blood spilt by hunters. For indigenous Australian’s Dingos are mythical creatures woven into their “dreaming”.
